| Our four race dates have been confirmed for the upcoming Mountain Empire Challenge 2008 race season! The question this year is – can anyone dethrone repeat men’s champion Phillip Prince of Wise, who defended his title in 2007 by winning three of the four races in which he competed. We had a new winner in the women’s category in 2007, with Cheryl Carrico taking the championship over Debbie Tilson. Team RDF edged out Team PBR by a single point in the team category.
All four of our races continue to be fine-tuned to provide the most challenging racing conditions around and really showcase our region’s great cycling, running and kayaking opportunities!
If you’re new to our triathlon series, the essentials are: MEC points will be awarded for finishers in three categories - male solo, female solo and team relay – and events are running, cycling and kayaking/canoeing. Racers must participate is a minimum of three races in the series in order to qualify for the MEC. |
